Flu Clinics for Students

The Care Van will provide free flu clinics at designated campuses from September 21st - November 30th from 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. The vaccination will be offered to children 6 months - 18 years of age. All students must have a parent or guardian present to receive the vaccination. Read more

Flu Clinics for Educators

Walgreen's will provide flu shots at designated campuses from September 23rd - September 30th at various times throughout the day. District staff and members of their family 7 years of age and older may receive the vaccination. All employees must bring a copy of their insurance card at the time of the visit. Read more

2016-2017 Academic Calendar and New School Times

The Galena Park ISD Board of Trustees has approved the academic calendar for the 2016-2017 school year.

Please note: Because of a change in state law, the Texas Education Code no longer defines 180 days of instruction as an acceptable school year. Instead, the requirement has been changed to at least 75,600 minutes of instruction.

"The rationale was to give districts more flexibility for making up missed instructional days," said DeEtta Culbertson, a spokeswoman for the Texas Education Agency.
