Teacher and Nurse Salary Increase Approved

Based on the need to maintain competitive salaries, and to retain and attract the most highly qualified teachers, the Galena Park ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved a pay increase for teachers and school nurses at the GPISD Board of Trustees meeting held on April 14, 2014. The starting salary for teachers and nurses for the 2014-2015 school year will be $50,000, an increase of $4,500 from the previous year.

Pay increases for all other employees will be considered at the Board of Trustees meeting that will be held on May 12, 2014. Read more

The Galena Park ISD Advanced Academics Department is having an Encounter's Challenge of the Mind Exhibition on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. The North Shore Mustangs, District Champions, defeated Converse Judson 57-45 in the 5A Boys' Basketball State Final Playoff on Saturday, March 8, 2014. Dr. Joe Coleman Named H-E-B Excellence in Education Finalist

Congratulations to Dr. Joe Coleman, Principal, North Shore Senior High School, on being named a finalist in the HEB Excellence in Education Award for 2014.
