Robinson Hearing from Gophers

North Shore linebacker Charles Robinson’s recruiting process is starting
to pick up after a few setbacks, which included a broken hand during the
offseason and an ankle injury that caused him to miss two games.

One of Houston’s most highly-touted defensive stoppers after his junior
season – Robinson (6-0, 210-pounds) has also fallen victim to scouting by
Mustang opponents, and the fact that North Shore’s first-teams don’t play
more than a half.

“If I wasn’t injured during the spring, I think I would have been offered
early,” he said. “This season I haven’t had many opportunities on the strong
side. Last year, I was the one making the big hits.”

Robinson -- who is receiving interest from Minnesota, Michigan State and
Arkansas – is preparing for the Mustang’s playoff run, which starts Friday
against Clear Lake.

“We have been ready for this since middle school,” he said. “We always thought at this time that we
would be unstoppable.”

North Shore’s defense has been unstoppable -- ranked No. 1 in Houston -- giving up under 135
yards per game.

“I’ve been talking to coaches about official visits, but I won’t know anything until after the season,” he
said.

Robinson is an academic qualifier with a score of 18 on the ACT and a 3.2 grade-point-average.
