Limiting Hastings (Texas) to 35 total yards of offense
by halftime, North Shore’s defense dominated a
lopsided 44-6 game that also saw quarterback
Bobby Reid run and throw for touchdowns.

Reid also had two 30-plus yard punts and is the
holder for the place-kicker – all in less than three
quarters.

The Mustangs’ first score came by safety, before
defensive back Bug Aymond ran back a 48-yard
punt to put North Shore up 9-0 – which is all they
would need.

Reid completed six of eight passes for 79 yards and
one touchdown before showing off his 4.4 speed on
a 54-yard touchdown option run.

“If I play Bobby in a 44-6 game and he gets hurt – I’m going to kick my own butt,” head
coach David Aymond said of the early hook. “Our defense was on the field so much in the
early part of the game, that dictated us playing some ball control football early on.”

Hastings was plagued by poor special teams play and turnovers, which gave North Shore
positive field position throughout the first half.

“They are a good team and you can’t give them what we gave them tonight,” Hastings
head coach Wade Luker said. “But I’ve got to give it to them – they are a very good
team.”

Hastings' bright spot came in the form of 6-5 junior, defensive lineman Vincent
Oghobasse, who clogged the interior lanes much of the night.
