Stars Come Out for North Shore

The stars came out for the North Shore Mustangs in a romp over Madison
High School 62-7 Friday night.

The brightest star was quarterback Bobby Reid, who completed 5 for 6
attempts for 166 yards and two touchdowns in less than two quarters of play.
Reid also ran twice for 28 yards, which included an 18-yard touchdown.

“Bobby looks great in the pocket and is so much more polished and confident
than last year,” head coach David Aymond said. “He has become a more
vocal leader as well.

“We were a little more conservative last week because we didn’t know
about our receivers,” he said. “Now we know that we have three receivers
that can get the job done.”

The receiving corps consists of Tyrell Williams, Tyrone Samuels and
Reggie Smothers. Williams (6-5, 220-pounds), who scored on a 74-yard touchdown reception, is a
converted tight end and receiving interest from Stephen F. Austin. Samuels had a pair of touchdowns,
while Smothers had a 48-yard touchdown from Reid.

North Shore’s stingy defense put the game out of reach when defensive end Chris Bocard returned a
fumble 26-yards for a touchdown. Bocard (6-2, 230-pounds) is being recruited by Nebraska, TCU,
Arkansas and Arizona.

Defensive back Bug Aymond added insult to injury when he returned his second kick in as many
weeks -- taking the second-half kick-off 75 yards for a touchdown.

“I think it just snowballed on them (Madison) and they were overwhelmed,” Aymond said.

Madison stand-out cornerback Jeffery Jack, who is being recruited by LSU, Texas A&M and
Arkansas, sat out with a high ankle sprain.
