Junior VASE Competition
This year, students from Cunningham Middle School participated in the Junior Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) held in our region at Plummer Middle School on May 4th. This annual art competition is an excellent place for young artists to display their skill and knowledge of artistic techniques and theory. The artworks were reviewed and students were interviewed by a team of jurors comprised of area artists, university instructors, and art educators. Jurors rated the pieces from 1 (Below Average) to 4 (Superior). All of the student entries from Cunningham received a Level 3 (Excellent) rating or higher, with medals given to the Level 4 winners. Level 3 (Excellent) winners: Hind Jendi, Kathryn Place, Monique Coleman, Santiago Cabrera
Level 4 (Superior) winners: Daniela Aviles, Lorelei Dearing, Richard Lanza, Xavier Ashimi
