Gents 1964

          In 1964, the original chapter of the Gents was founded at Booker T. Washington High
            School by Mr. Langston Knowles, Gents are represented at more than 30 Houston
area high schools.

   Philosophy

         It is our philosophy to provide opportunities for manly self-development and
        prepararation for life. It is also our continued philosophy to become aware of the
        multiple roles of men in today’s society and to encourage individual and group
        involvement and achieve worldwide unity.

    Purpose

The Purpose of the Gents Organization shall be to accomplish the following:

-To provide opportunities for self-development and preparation for life.

-To become aware of the multiple roles of men in today’s society.

        -To encourage individual and group involvement in helping to achieve worldwide unity.

-To provide opportunities for decision making and for assuming responsibilities.

        -To institute programs promoting greater understanding between youth and young adults.

    -To provide service to our school, community and administration as the need occurs.
