Team KAOS robotics continues its outreach efforts by maintaining strong communication with the community and the media.
- In 2008, Team KAOS was involved in the introduction of Houston Early Robotics in our local primary schools where the students will compete in LEGO tournaments.
- In 2008, Team KAOS, along with our sponsor GE Volunteers; have participated in one of the most anticipated events we have ever undertaken: The Adopt-A-Floor program at Texas Childress’s Hospital.
- The kidney dialysis patient’s floor was chosen.
- The children were introduced to LEGO robots by the team.
- Approximately 150 patients are involved.
- The team mentors the patients while they are on the dialysis machines.
- In 2008, Team KAOS has also introduced the ‘Go Green’ concept to our school. We have created a video promoting recycling and showing young minds how they can help the environment.
- In 2007, Team KAOS created Mini Engineering Camps, designed to introduce elementary and intermediate students to science, engineering and technology.
- In 2006, Team KAOS got involved with the Life Skills class at our school. This class includes students with limits on senses, such as blindness and deafness. The team undertook a project where we constructed and gave special stations to the Life Skills program, that could stimulate their senses using lights, sounds, or textured surfaces.
