MacArthur Elementary was awarded the Texas Educator Excellence Grant (TEEG) by the Texas Education Agency. The school was awarded the grant based on its TAKS scores the past two years and Recognized status. The total amount of the award is $120,000. The grant is part of an incentive plan that would award teachers/staff for high student achievement during the 2006-2007 school year. Eligible teachers/staff will receive financial compensation from this grant in the 2007-2008 school year based on their contribution to the improvement of student achievement on our campus.
Funds will be distributed in two parts: Part 1-Teacher Incentives (not less than 75% of the award) and Part 2-Additional Incentives (not more than 25% of the award).
The following staff are eligible to receive incentives.
75% - Teachers grades 2-5 and special education teachers
25% - Assistant Principal, CIS, TIS, teachers grades PK-1, all support staff and paraprofessionals
75% Criteria
1.Each individual grade level must increase in all TAKS related content area District Assessments by 10% from the October testing to the end of the year testing.
2. Each individual grade level must meet 75% passing (recognized) on TAKS test given for their grade.
3. Second grade will take the 3rd grade TAKS release test. 50% of the grade level must score 50% or above on the 3rd grade reading release test.
4. Teachers/staff must return to the campus for the 2007-08 school year.
5. Teachers/staff must meet once per month to discuss student performance and lesson plans.
25% Criteria
1. All individual grade levels 3rd - 5th must increase in all TAKS related content areas by 10% from the October testing to the end of the year testing. Second grade will need to increase math on their District Assessment by 10% from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.
2. All grade levels must meet 75% passing (recognized) on TAKS tests.
3. Second grade will take the 3rd grade TAKS release test. 50% of the grade level must score 50% or above on the 3rd grade reading release test.
4. Teachers/staff must return to the campus for the 2007-08 school year.
