      Your kindergartener is expected to know the following:

• All uppercase and lowercase letters and sounds (recognize and print)
• Recognize their own name in print
• Properly print first and last name
• Recognize 36 sight words (from gpisd list)
• Beginning and ending sounds
• Recognize and give examples of rhyming words
• How to sound out a word ( ex. B-a-t ; Bat)
• Write and form sentences
• Read age appropriate books and leveled readers
• Recognize numbers 1-20
• Count from 1 to 100
• Recognize 6 shape (circle, square, triangle, rhombus, rectangle, & oval)
• Match numbers to objects
• How to read a calendar
• How to make and interpret a graph

• Lunch number
• How to tie shoe laces, buckle belt, and tuck in shirts
• Birthday, address, and telephone number

We will work on the skills listed above as well as others not listed.
