What is a speech language        pathologist?

Speech language pathologists, sometimes called speech therapists, assess, evaluate, consult, and provide instruction related to the development and remediation of communication disorders.  Speech language pathologists work with people who cannot produce speech sounds or cannot produce them clearly.  They work with students who have speech rhythm and fluency problems, such as stuttering, and students who have problems understanding and producing language.
