'Stang Express newsletter, don't worry. Just go to the North Shore MS Journalism Facebook
page, "like" the page and you can get the issue in full color and download it to see photos that
are in the newsletter.
On Saturday, the NSMS Band competed against 16 other schools in our Region Band Competition.
NSMS students earned 3 times as many chairs as the next closest school. Congratulations to all
our band students! We are proud of you!

November 1 - D.I.V.A.S and D.U.D.E.S, along with the Counselors kick off the annunal Food
Drive to assist our students and families in need. Students are encouraged to donate canned food
items. They should bring their donations to their 3rd and 8th period teachers. The class with the
most donations will win a pizza party.
November 8th - National Junior Honor Society Meeting will be held in the MPR at 7:15 a.m. We
will be discussing grade sheets, the upcoming fundraiser and elections for officiers. If you are not
able to attend, please see Mrs. Stanowick or Mrs. Dunson by Friday at the latest.
November 12 - If you love Math and can solve numerous upper-level questions without a
calculator, then we want you to be a part of our Mathematics UIL Team. Please show up in
Mrs. Shield's room. B209 for try-outs on Wednesday, November 14th at 4:00 p.m.
November 13 - Attention all "You Be The Chemist" competitors, the qualifying test
will not be until the last week in November. Make sure that you study your chemistry packets
because there are many competitors this year fighting for the top 3 positions. If you have not
received your study packet, please see Mr. Dewar.
Student Council will hold its first meeting in Ms. Giron's room, B100 from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Anyone
who is interested in joining is welcome to attend.
Math UILNumber SenseTeam forming. Please come by room A101 every Monday after school for practices. You can learn how to do math quickly without showing your work.
Cheerleader practice today. Mandatory Parent Meeting in the library at 5:30 p.m.
November 14 - Interested in Social Studies? Would you like to compete for a spot on the U.I.L.
Social Studies Team? Come to Mr. Strzelecki's room, C204 after school today.
November 15 - National Junior Honor Society meeting at 7:15 a.m. in Room C100. We will be
passing out brochures for the upcoming fundraiser, collecting $10.00 dues, and voting on officers.
It is extremely important that all members attend. Please see Mrs. Stanowick or Mrs. Dunson,
if you cannot attend.
