Welcome to North Shore Middle School
To help develop each student to be emotionally, mentally, morally, physically and socially prepared to take his/her place in an ever-changing society.
The vision of NSMS is to prepare and lead the students of NSMS to be ready to enter high school with the skills needed to graduate in four years through rigorous instruction, and by offering classes where students can earn high school credit towards their graduation requirements while in middle school.

NSMS recognizes 2017 TOY and ROY

Channel 13 News Anchor visits NSMS
A North Shore Middle School alumnus stopped by his old stomping grounds yesterday. Many would recognize him as face is on TV almost every day.
Mr. Erik Barajas, former NSMS Mustang, North Shore Senior High graduate and one of the news anchors of ABC Channel 13 Eyewitness News, visited to talk to technology applications and Encounters students about his experience in school, his various jobs in news media and what it takes to be a news journalist.
Students were able to ask questions and Mr. Barajas shared his insights and also talked about how important it is to plan and figure out what you want to do in life and, in turn, contribute to society.
His visit was made possible by Mrs. Fanny Vides, who teaches Digital Design & Media Production, who wanted her students to get a better picture of what they can do with the digital media skills they are learning.
After speaking to the group, Mr. Barajas then toured Mrs. Vides' classroom and also visited students in Mr. Vaughn's Digital Video/Audio Design class to see what equipment they were working with to create media products.
North Shore Academic UIL teams bring home trophies
On Feb. 10, all Galena Park ISD middle schools competed in their annual UIL Academic Meet at North Shore Senior High School. North Shore Middle School students and coaches have been working and practicing since last October and were ready to take on the competition!
After 3 rounds of competition and fun time-killing fillers inbetween, North Shore's 7th and 8th grade teams were once again crowned as Team Champions! This marks the 6th year in a row that NSMS has taken home both team trophies.
Congratulations to all students and coaches who worked so hard to keep NSMS the Home of Champions!
NSMS 8th grader wins BEST OF SHOW!
Several seventh and eighth grade North Shore Middle School students participated in this year's Galena Park ISD Rodeo Art Show. Our own Cadance Smith, an eighth grader, won Best of Show for middle school for her color pencil drawing of a hen.
Her artwork and many others will be displayed for thousands to see at this year's Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo at NRG Arena and she will be formally recognized there as an award-winning HLSR artist!
She also has the opportunity to receive a scholarship from the Houston Museum of Fine Arts Glassel School of Art over the summer.
NSMS Traffic Flow Plan for Parents
With over 1300 students, NSMS has a plan for pick-up and drop off in the mornings and afternoons.
Buses (blue arrows) drop off/pick up students in the front of the school and parents (red arrows) can only drop off/pick up students from the side of the school.
See the NSMS Map of the school traffic plan.
