Who We Are

The Galena Park ISD Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to enrich, enhance and maximize the quality of education for all Galena Park ISD students. The Foundation was created in 1998 by Dr. Shirley J. Neeley, Superintendent and GPISD administrators who realized some other source of funding was needed for teachers to implement innovative teaching programs. School budgets were already being stretched to the limit and many teachers were paying for materials out of their pockets.

Thanks to the support of community members, local businesses and district employees, the Galena Park ISD Education Foundation has raised over $1,094,172 since it's inception. Innovative teaching grants totaling over $485,715 have been given out during "Prize Posse" activities over the past thirteen years.
