North Shore Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary of the 2003 State Champs
Houston, Texas: Texas: A short 10 years ago, the Galena Park ISD North Shore Mustangs embarked on a memorable season in which they went undefeated, winning a Class 5A state championship along the way.
Considered one of the greatest teams in Texas high school football history, coach David Aymond’s Mustangs triumphed over The Woodlands before 40,000 fans in Rice Stadium.
Over a dozen players from that roster went on to play college football, while a little-known sophomore tight end now stars for the hometown Houston Texans: Earl Mitchell.
The Galena Park ISD superintendent, Board of Trustees, athletics, and administration welcome back the team this Friday, September 20, 2013 to commemorate the history making team’s 10-year anniversary.
The pre-game celebration will begin at 6:35pm at the Galena Park ISD Stadium (15025 Wallisville Road Houston, Texas 77049). The former players, coaches, and trainers will be recognized before the North Shore-Houston Madison game, which will kick-off at 7 pm.
