Teachers Receive Well-Deserved Update

Houston, Texas: Gallery Furniture and KPRC Local 2 teamed up to hold a friendly competition. The school that received the most votes would receive a shopping spree to redecorate the teachers' lounge. Three schools were on the ballot. Each school submitted photos of their lounge and a reason they should have their lounge updated. Lee Brown, principal at Cloverleaf Elementary, suggested that, at his school, the teachers' lounge hasn't been updated, not because it wasn't needed, but because there is a motto they live by at Cloverleaf Elementary - “students come first.” So while the teachers certainly were deserving of a nicer area to eat, plan, and relax, the students always took priority.

As the voting closed at noon on Wednesday, August 27, it was clear the community related to the sentiments of Mr. Brown. Cloverleaf Elementary was declared the winner, holding 41% of the vote. “This is a celebration of the teachers' hard work. They deserve this!” said Mr. Brown. He added, “Thanks to Mattress Mack and Channel 2 for making our hard working teachers feel appreciated.”
