Galena Park ISD Receives Another Financial Recognition
Houston, Texas: Each year, Galena Park ISD produces a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending August 31. This year, just as in the past 3 years, GPISD’s CAFR has received recognition from the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO). To receive recognition, a school district must comply with the highest standards for disclosure and provide pertinent accounting information beyond that which is required by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.
The award was presented to GPISD Chief Financial Officer Sonya George and the business department. “Receiving this award reaffirms a long standing commitment to financial integrity. The Galena Park ISD community deserves to know their hard earned tax dollars are properly accounted for. I am extremely grateful for the hard work by all support staff who made this prestigious award possible,” George said.
