Bright Smiles, Bright Futures
Houston, Texas: Woodland Acres Elementary student Tess Hampton is one of only twelve children world wide to have won Colgate’s 17th Annual Global Reach Scholarship. Colgate awarded Tess a 500-dollar student scholarship for the winning submission of her artwork in the 2015 “My Bright Smile Global Calendar” contest. Under the direction of her art teacher Ms. Sonia Lloyd, Tess created and submitted her own original artwork produced without the help or assistance of anyone else. Entries were judged on originality, creativity, imagination, and best rendering of the theme, “Why My Bright Smile is Important.” Woodland Acres Elementary will also receive a 500-dollar classroom grant from Colgate.
Children from classrooms all over the world submitted their artwork to be featured in the 2014 Colgate "My Bright Smile" Global Calendar. This year's winners come from Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Fiji, India, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, and the United States.
