GPISD Sends Seven All-Staters
Houston, Texas: The highest honor a Texas music student can receive is “All-State.” Each fall more than 65,000 high school students begin the audition process vying for a place in one of the Texas All-State Bands, All-State Orchestras and/or All-State Choirs. This year seven students will represent GPISD at the Texas All-State gathering, three from Galena Park High School and four from North Shore Senior High. They will spend three days participating in intensive rehearsals during the Annual Texas Music Educators Association convention held February 10-13 in San Antonio, Texas. The convention culminates with concerts by each All-State group on Saturday.
