GPISD Honors Volunteers at May Board Meeting
Houston, Texas: Galena Park ISD would like to recognize Naomi Salinas, a volunteer at Pyburn Elementary School, and Gloria Francis, a volunteer at North Shore Senior High.
Mrs. Salinas is an outstanding volunteer and definitely goes above and beyond, especially when she sees a need; she goes out of her way to help. The staff is blessed to have her as she has volunteered a total of 106 hours this school year alone.
Sandra Garcia, counselor at Pyburn Elementary says, “Mrs. Salinas is special... to Pyburn Elementary because of her dedication in putting students first. The staff at Pyburn loves her as a result of her motivation and willingness to help everyone. Mrs. Salinas we want you to know that your time at Pyburn does not go unnoticed and we appreciate all that you do for us. We want to thank you for the countless hours you have dedicated to our school and your commitment to our students and staff. “
Mrs. Francis is an outstanding parent volunteer and the mother of one current North Shore Senior High School student and a 2015 North Shore Senior High School Graduate. The number of hours she has spent at North Shore Senior High is innumerable. She has volunteered in GPISD schools from the south side to the north side.
Tabitha Sapien, a counselor at North Shore Senior High says, “Mrs. Francis works until the job is done. She is very caring, hardworking and never asks for anything in return. She is a parent I would continue to invite long after her children are gone. Mrs. Francis is a very trustworthy individual who really wants what’s best, for not only her children, but for all the students in GPISD.”
