Young Yellow Jackets Shine Despite Tough Opposition
Houston, Texas: The Galena Park Yellow Jackets played a tough game against district opponent C.E. King Friday night, October 23. While they lost with a score of 61-14, the Yellow Jackets never lost heart. They never quit. “Any time you play C.E. King, it can be intimidating. Our players didn't back down. Especially our younger players, they were fearless,” said Head Coach David Handel. Sophomore quarterback threw for 169 yards and two touchdowns. Sophomore running back Xavier Rivera rushed the ball for 79 yards, and freshman wide receiver Kasen Handel had five receptions for 88 yards and two touchdowns. As this young team gains more experience, the future could indeed be very bright for the Yellow Jackets of Galena Park High School.
