$100,000 Dedicated to Scholarships for Galena Park High School Students
Houston, Texas: On Monday night, October 5, the Galena Park ISD Board of Trustees held its monthly meeting. During the meeting, the Board, along with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Angi Williams, recognized the generosity of Louise Armstrong Glenn, the daughter of the late Orville “Jack” Armstrong, a 1945 graduate of Galena Park High School. Armstrong grew up in the Galena Park community, and, in his memory, Ms. Glenn created the Orville A. “Jack” Armstrong Scholarship fund. She has contracted to donate a total of $100,000 over the next 20 years to fund one $5,000 scholarship per year to a deserving Galena Park High School student.
