Good food for a Good Cause
Houston, Texas: On Tuesday, September 22, the North Shore Middle School Choir held their first “Choir Night Out” fundraiser in cooperation with Las Palomas Mexican Restaurant on Woodforest Blvd. The deal: Las Palomas would donate 10% of sales to the NSMS Choir. The turnout was overwhelming! The NSMS parents and supporters turned out in droves. In an even more generous gesture, the owners of the restaurant, Gloria Moncada and Jose Zuniga, decided to personally match the amount raised, giving a total of $750 to the choir. “I do it for the kids. The kids of this community are our future,” said Zuniga. The money will help students attend summer choral training sessions.
