Community Gathers to Dedicate Renovated Clinic

Houston, Texas: In a cooperative effort between Galena Park ISD, Harris Health System and the North Channel Chamber of Commerce, the Galena Park ISD's South Side Clinic, located next to MacArthur Elementary School, received renovations and improvements. “These improvements mean children in this area will continue to have access to valuable medical services,” said Dr. Angi Williams, Superintendent of Schools. Services offered by the clinic are for children ages 5 – 18, and include wellness exams, immunizations, and sick visits Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 PM - 4:00 PM. In addition, children ages 5 – 18 will have access to psychological services and behavioral medicines as needed, greatly improving the overall mental health of the children. The services come free of charge in most cases. “Children need to be healthy to learn. We want to do everything we can to keep these children healthy so they can continue to grow and learn,” Williams added.
