Jessica Diaz Selected as Semifinalist for ACT Award
Houston, Texas: On April 11, ACT announced the 16 national semifinalists for the 2017 ACT College and Career Readiness Campaign, which celebrates individuals and organizational efforts to advance college and career readiness for all.
An ACT selection committee chose the Top 16 semifinalists out of the 130 state exemplars to represent the four categories of the campaign: High School Seniors, High Schools, Postsecondary Institutions and Employers.
Galena Park High School senior, Jessica Diaz, was selected as a semifinalist in the High School Seniors category. Diaz plans to obtain a degree in fisheries and wildlife, with a concentration in wildlife conservation, to better protect Earth’s ecosystems.
The campaign will now select four National Exemplars, one from each category, to be recognized at an ACT event later this fall.
Good luck, Jessica! GPISD is so proud of you.
