Galena Park ISD Chosen to Participate in Feeding Hungry Minds Breakfast Initiative

Houston, Texas: Galena Park ISD was recently selected as the only Texas school district to participate in the AASA, The School Superintendent Association, latest school breakfast initiative, Feeding Hungry Minds: Superintendent Leadership for Alternative School Breakfast Programs. This program will reach more than 90,000 students in eight school districts around the country. The Walmart Foundation has donated more $1 million to support this initiative.

Through the Feeding Hungry Minds initiative, GPISD students will enjoy free breakfast all year using an alternative model- either breaking in the classroom or a grab-and-go model using kiosks or vending machines in the hallway, so that more children have the opportunity to eat.
