GPISD Host Veterans Day Luncheon
Houston, Texas: As part of a week dedicated to honoring those who have served or are serving our nation, Galena Park ISD hosted its annual Veterans Day Luncheon on November 11. More than 150 veterans and their family members attended and were honored by the North Shore Senior High School’s choir performance which included the theme song from each military branch and finished with the Star Spangled Banner. There were also letters written to the veterans on the tables by elementary students, and a special reading by Denneshae Jones from Jacinto City Elementary School of her letter.
Denneshae wrote, “You put yourself through intense physical training and hard work, but most of all you took time from seeing your family so other people could keep theirs safe. For all those amazing things you put yourself through, all people in the United States of America owe you a ginormous thank you.”
GPISD would like to thank all of the veterans and family members who attended the Veterans Day Luncheon.
