Galena Park ISD Kicks Off the United Way Campaign
Houston, Texas: Galena Park ISD hosted a luncheon for campus and department coordinators who will lead the 2016-2017 United Way campaign. The District proudly supports one of the most respected non-profit organizations in the country through employee contributions. The campaign will take collections from Monday, October 10 to Friday, October 28, 2016.
Our campuses and departments have been challenged to exceed last year’s contributions with a new goal of $35,000.
United Way serves the students of Houston through their Education Initiative. This program helps make an impact on students’ success through early childhood education, reading tutors and academic support, mentoring and out-of-school programs. Others who directly benefit from the generous donations to United Way are military veterans. United Way programs for honored veterans include employment services, financial education and counseling.
GPISD is a proud supporter of United Way and the services they provide to our community and students.
