Cunningham Middle School Receives a Helping Hand from Oklahoma

Houston, Texas: On September 23, Cunningham Middle School’s (CMS) adopted schools from Oklahoma, Heartland Middle School and Edmond Public Schools, took a long drive to personally deliver a truckload of supplies just for the students at CMS.

Gabe Schmidt, assistant principal from Heartland Middle School, organized a relief team with the following individuals: Jason Galloway- Principal Heartland MS; Michelle Grinsteiner- Principal Cheyenne MS; Laura McGee- Principal Central MS; Joe Crawford- Memorial Road Church of Christ Disaster Relief Ministry; Doug Rainbolt- Pastor at Channelview Church of Christ and 40+ high school students and volunteers from Oklahoma.

The relief team went above and beyond to help the staff and students at Cunningham. They collected school supplies and donated over $3,000 to the CMS. But the team didn’t stop there; they created a wish list of supplies for the CMS staff members who needed supplies to rebuild their homes.

“We are still in awe of the outpouring support from Heartland Middle School and the Edmond Public Schools,” said Shaunté Morris, Cunningham principal. “Their hard work and dedication were truly appreciated and we are so grateful they chose CMS.”

Galena Park ISD and Cunningham Middle is so incredibly thankful for the volunteers from Oklahoma for helping during a time of need throughout the entire community.
