Maria Munoz- MacArthur Elementary

It's been my pleasure to work with Ms. Munoz! She was a wonderful AP a few years ago and now is our campus principal...couldn't get any better! She is first of all, understanding and caring of us all and our families. To Ms. Munoz, students and staff come in first place; she shows it. She also transmits the love and joy for learning! She is a true role model and exhibits greatness in everything she does; our school has improved since she came back as our principal. She also provides many learning opportunities for her teachers and motivates them to continue with higher education. She is a wonderful person and a blessing from the Lord!

Victoria Garcia- MacArthur Elementary

Ms. Garcia is an exceptional ELA coach for many reasons. Let me explain. She assists teachers effectively by utilizing instructional time to model and co-teach lessons. Her primary purpose is to improve student achievements for all children by working directly with teachers to support their instruction of English Language Arts. She always wears a smile and is very resourceful with materials and ideas! She has a BIG heart for children.

Silvia Lloyd- North Shore Elementary

Mrs. Lloyd is not just any teacher; she is an amazing role model for our kids. My son has been with her since he was in first grade and he is now in third grade moving on to fourth. I can say he has learned and improved so much with his school work. Mrs. Lloyd has gone above and beyond with all her students not just with my son. She makes sure her students are giving their all with their work. She stays in contact with all the parents so we can know where our child stands. I nominate Mrs. Lloyd for being one of the best teachers that North Shore Elementary has.

I would like to take this time to nominate Mr. McCullum. He and his family were displaced by Hurricane Harvey and brought his family to Mississippi. During his time of distress, he took time away from his family to visit Sherman Avenue Elementary to take part in our Career Day. He shared his wonderful experience as an educator and his passion for teaching.

Mr. Kwiatkowski- Galena Park High School

Mr. Kwiatkowski is the best teacher I have ever had. I have learned so much from him and any success that I have is equally his. He is a wonderful specialist, willing to help anyone, not just the math department with whatever they need. Mr. K will help any student, teacher, or administrator at the drop of a hat. His willingness to help comes so naturally to him. He is kind, intelligent, and thoughtful. He is an inspiration to me every day and his support makes me feel like I can do anything. I am a better teacher because Mr. K is here. I am so grateful to have him as my specialist and I know everyone on campus is happy to have him here.
