				 The Coordinator for Advanced Placement provides the leadership to develop, coordinate, and evaluate
all phases of the Pre-AP and AP Program within the district, advising and aiding teachers,

Assistant Director for Safety and Training   Responsibilities
				 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1.Oversee department safety program, including scheduling and conducting monthly safety meetings
and in-service trainings.

2.Review application, schedule and participate in interviews with prospect applicants

3.Conduct new driver/ attendant orientation/ standardization training.

4.Schedule employee physicals and drug tests and maintain an updated random drug testing roster.

5.Maintain an updated file of employees CDL, physical, School Bus Driver Certification, driving

6.Oversee driver and attendant standardization evaluations on all employees annually.

7.Schedule and supervise annual evacuations at all campuses.

8.Enhance student school bus safety by scheduling “safe student rider-ship” classes at

9.Conduct CPR training and ensure that all Department personnel are certified.

10.Perform thorough accident investigation for district vehicles.  If the accident involves injury,
accompany injured employees or students to medical facility.  Stay with injured students until a
parent or campus representative arrives.

11.Coordinate with insurance companies for repairs of vehicles.

12.Communicate with districts Risk Management department on insurance information for employees
injured in vehicle accidents.

13. Supervise to the Assistant Safety/ Trainer and Safety Assurance Technician.

14.Maintain inventory of first aid supplies and ensure that each bus is properly equipped.

15.Conduct State School Bus Drivers Certification classes for Galena Park I.S.D. drivers.

16.Stay abreast of changes from DPS and state and national laws regarding school buses and

18.Assist in preparation of the employee route selection list for annual route bidding.

19.Schedule and Chair department’s Safety and Accident Review Board.

Computer Network Technician 1   Responsibilities
				 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1.Works independently under the general direction of the campus Technology Support Specialist and
the supervisor to install and maintain district’s computer hardware, software and network. 

2.Responsible for diagnosing and repairing hardware and software problems and for installation of
new hardware and software. 	

3.Ensure a timely response to technological problems reported by the departments and campuses.  		

4.Develop and implement routine schedules for maintenance and cleaning of equipment. 	
5.Recommend and coordinate hardware configurations, and modifications to assure adherence to
manufacturer’s’ guidelines. 

6.Observe and report equipment performance deficiencies, perform equipment repairs, and suggest
alternate hardware devices. 	

7.Assist with designing and coordinating physical layout of equipment. 

8.Performs preventive maintenance and assists with routine servicing of equipment before contacting
vendors service representative. 

9.Keeps the technology equipment clean and performs other operator maintenance functions

Secondary District Behavior Specialist   Responsibilities
				 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1.Assist with developing and maintaining individual behavioral plans.

2.Facilitate the district behavioral program developed for students with behavior intervention
plans.

3.Assist the campus staff with behavior interventions for students with persistent
classroom behavior problems.

4.Facilitate meetings with campus behavioral teams (i.e., meetings with behavioral specialist,
assistant principal, counselor, CYS worker, nurse, etc.)

5.Conduct functional behavioral assessments to assists in the development of behavior intervention
