Dear New GPISD Employee,

Welcome to the Galena Park Independent School District!

It is with great pleasure that Human Resources and Communication Services (HRCS) welcomes you as a new employee to our District. We are confident that you are embarking on an exciting, personally fulfilling and truly rewarding career in public education. We believe that you will thoroughly enjoy working in GPISD.

In an effort to expedite the process, we have placed all required forms and information on line for you to download, complete and return to our HRCS Department during your scheduled appointment. Be assured, that if you have questions on any form that you must complete, you may leave that area unfilled and can complete it when you meet with our District HRCS representative.

New Employees hired before school begins:

You are asked to call our office at (832) 386-1278 to schedule an appointment. Such an appointment will minimize your time spent on this process. The Human Resources and Communication Services (HRCS) office is located at 14705 Woodforest Blvd. (off of Beltway 8 East & Woodforest Blvd.).

New Hire Paperwork

You will find all the paperwork you need to complete the hiring process on the following pages. In order to reduce the time of your HRCS appointment, be sure to bring all completed documents. Make a copy of all forms that are required to have your signature so that you will have a copy for your file when you have completed the process.

Documents that you must bring to your HRCS appointment include:

I. Valid Identification:

• Social Security Card
• Drivers License or state issued ID
• Appropriate and valid work authorization documentation as your situation may require

II. All documents from Part A

• Be sure to have two (2) copies of all forms that require your signature.

Overview of the Galena Park area

Galena Park ISD encompasses 32 square miles along the Houston Ship Channel in east Harris County. Located only 15 minutes from downtown Houston, Galena Park ISD is a short drive to most major Houston-area attractions, including Minute Maid Park - home of the Houston Astros, the Toyota Center - which hosts major concerts and family events and is home of the Houston Rockets, and the many fine restaurants and venues to hear live music as well as the Galleria, NASA and Galveston Island. The district's excellent academic reputation is no longer a secret as more and more Houstonians call this community "home."
