Galena Park ISD has partnered with Harris County Public Health Environmental Services and community leaders/businesses to address the mission of responsible pet ownership.  The goal is to create a community of responsible pet owners by encouraging, supporting and developing a safe and healthy community where humans and their companion pets live.

Harris County Veterinary Public Health is our leading partner in the effort to stop abuse and neglect of animals and to promote responsible pet ownership. VPH has brought together the major animal stakeholders to work together in one mission, creating a community of responsible pet owners.

HCVPH responds to citizens calls regarding stray animals, investigates dog bites and provides routine animal patrol. The county’s animal shelter offers pet adoptions, lost and found shelter, and issues animal licenses.

Citizens for Animal Protection is committed to sheltering, rescuing and placing homeless animals—relieving animal suffering by preventing animal cruelty through humane education.
