New Administrators Recognized



            Fourteen new Galena Park ISD administrators were recognized by Dr. Mark Henry, superintendent of schools, and Dawn Thompson-Fisher, president of the Board of Trustees, during the Aug. 13 Board meeting.
            Jason Bollich, former language arts teacher at Woodland Acres Middle School, was recognized as a new assistant principal at North Shore Senior High School. Bollich has seven years of experience in education.
            Tonia Bush, who recently served as the campus instructional specialist at Normandy Crossing Elementary School, was introduced as the new assistant principal at Normandy Crossing Elementary.  Bush has 14 years of experience in education.
            Michelle Cavazos, former language arts teacher at Woodland Acres Middle School, was recognized as the new assistant principal at Sam Houston Elementary. Cavazos has six years of experience in education.
            Linda Curry, who recently served as an accountant in the compensation department, was introduced as the district’s new purchasing coordinator. Curry has seven years of experience in education.
            Lecia Eubanks, former technology instructional specialist at Galena Park Elementary School, was recognized as the new assistant principal at Galena Park Elementary. Eubanks has four years of experience in education.
            Travis Fanning, who most recently served as Gear Up advisor at Galena Park High School, was recognized as a new assistant principal at Cunningham Middle School. Fanning has six years of experience in education.
            Billy Foster, who recently served as an assistant principal at North Shore High School, was introduced as the new principal at Cunningham Middle School.  Foster has nine years of experience in education.
Joanne Garza, former assistant principal at North Shore Middle School, was recognized as the new principal at Woodland Acres Elementary School. She has 10 years of experience in education.
            Mark Hopkins was introduced as a new assistant principal at North Shore High School. Hopkins previously served as a career and technology teacher in Round Rock ISD. He has three years of experience in education.
            Margo Kelley, former middle school assistant principal in Spring Branch ISD, was introduced as the new assistant principal at Cobb Sixth Grade Campus. Kelley has 10 years of experience in education.
            Lance Lyles was introduced as the new principal at Galena Park Elementary School. Lyles most recently served as assistant principal at Freedom Elementary and has eight years of experience in education.
            Laurie Patterson, former secondary social studies specialist, was introduced as the district’s new program director for social studies. She has 20 years of experience in education.
            Esmerelda Perez, former assistant principal at Cloverleaf Elementary, was introduced as the new principal at North Shore Elementary School. Perez has 12 years of experience in education.
            Gloria Vasquez was introduced as the new assistant principal at Cimarron Elementary School. Vasquez most recently served as a counselor at Cimarron Elementary and has seven years of experience in education.
