Galena Park ISD student registration requirements for elementary schools
PK and KN Registration Requirements:
Eligibility age is determined as of September 1, 2004.
Children entering PK must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2004.
Children entering KN must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2004.
Prekindergarten Eligibility:
The PK eligibility requirements are: the child speaks limited English OR is from a family whose household income qualifies the child for the free or reduced lunch program, per federal guidelines.
Documents Required for Registration:
The child’s birth certificate
Immunization records
Child’s social security card
Proof of residency:

Residing in a house:
Current utility bill (water, electricity or gas only) and a valid driver’s license
Residing in an apartment:
Valid lease agreement and a valid driver’s license |
If your child completed the last school year in a public school other than GPISD, please bring the child’s report card to assist in appropriate classroom placement.
If your child is transferring from another GPISD school, the new school will obtain the child’s records.
