Kristi Savage, music teacher at MacArthur Elementary, was honored as the Galena Park ISD Educator of the Month at the May 4 North Channel Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon.
Savage has spent the past eight years at MacArthur and is constantly searching for ways to make her music classes more interesting for students. She is also in charge of the monthly music programs for PTA meetings and also works with the school’s hand bell and honor choirs.
“Kristi is a person who sets high standards for herself and takes joy in the quality of her accomplishments . She is flexible and can be counted on to adapt to changes as necessary,” said Lina Esquivel, principal at MacArthur. “She is a ‘master scheduler’ and has taken care of our music, PE, art and computer schedules for the last few years. Kristi always meets predetermined deadlines and shows pride in her work. She is very extremely dependable and always comes to work with a positive attitude”
