NEW ADMINISTRATORS RECOGNIZED IN SEPTEMBER


      Twelve new Galena Park ISD administrators were recognized by Dr. Mark Henry, superintendent of schools, and Jeff Miller, president of the Board of Trustees, during the Sept. 11 Board meeting.
      Julissa Alcantar-Martinez, former assistant principal at Galena Park Middle School, was recognized as the new principal of Cobb Sixth Grade Campus. She has seven years of experience in education.
      Susanna Brooks, who recently served as a teacher at Woodland Acres Elementary School, was introduced as the new assistant principal at Woodland Acres Elementary.  Brooks has six years of experience in education.
      Dianne Edwards, former teacher at Tice Elementary School, was recognized as the new assistant principal at Tice Elementary. Edwards has 25 years of experience in education, with 16 of those years in Galena Park ISD.
      Antonio Garcia was introduced as a new assistant principal at Green Valley Elementary School. He previously taught at Green Valley Elementary. Garcia has two years of experience in education.
      Rebecca Gardea, former teacher at Jacinto City Elementary School, was recognized as the new assistant principal at Jacinto City Elementary. Gardea has 19 years of experience in education.
      David Gillings, former teacher and coach at North Shore High School, was recognized as a new assistant principal at North Shore High. Gillings has 20 years of experience in education.
      Vicki Horst, who recently served as a teacher at Galena Park High School, was introduced as a new assistant principal at Galena Park High.  Horst has 21 years of experience in education.
      Maria Muñoz, former teacher at Tice Elementary School, was recognized as the new assistant principal at MacArthur Elementary School. Muñoz has six years of experience in education.
      Gerardo Ramirez was introduced as a new assistant principal at Galena Park Middle School. He previously taught at Woodland Acres Middle School. Ramirez has five years of experience in education.
      Nicole Sephus, former teacher at Freedom Elementary School, was recognized as the new assistant principal at Havard Elementary School. Sephus has six years of experience in education.
      Cynthia Stephens was introduced as a new assistant principal at Green Valley Elementary School. She spent 19 years as a teacher at Green Valley Elementary. Stephens has 25 years of experience in education with 19 of those in Galena Park ISD.
      Frances Urbanovsky, former counselor at North Shore Middle School, was recognized as the new coordinator of student support services. Urbanovsky has 28 years of experience in education.
