Wilfred Broussard, Jr. elected to Position 5 seat |
|
Galena Park ISD voters elected Wilfred Joseph Broussard, Jr. to the Position 5 seat on the GPISD Board of Trustees on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Broussard, a 1978 graduate of North Shore High School, defeated Wanda Heath Johnson in the Position 5 race with a total of 341 votes to Johnson’s 306. The Position 5 seat became vacant in March when Vice President William “Bill” Cobbs resigned. Cobbs was first elected to the Board in 2002. Incumbents June Harris, Position 6, and Dawn Thompson-Fisher, Position 7, did not draw opponents and were returned to their respective seats. Harris received 447 votes while Thompson-Fisher received 464 votes. Broussard, 48, is the owner of Broussard Real Estate Investments Group, LLC. |
