Matthews honored by North Channel Area Chamber of Commerce
Barrett Matthews is the youngest son of Gary and Danette Matthews. He holds a 3.34 GPA and has scored a 21 on his ACT test. Barrett is a member of the junior varsity track team, varsity basketball team and is a two-year letterman at tight end on the varsity football team.
He caught 13 passes for 383 yards and 7 touchdowns during the 2007 football season. Barrett has already committed to play football for the University of Texas. He is listed on ESPN’s top 150 High School Prospects and has been selected to play in the 2009 Under Armour All-American Game on Jan. 4, 2009 in Orlando, Florida. The game will be televised live by ESPN.
