GPISD Students Honored in Duke Talent Search |
|
Four Galena Park ISD academically talented seventh graders were acknowledged this spring for their exceptional scores on the ACT or SAT. As part of The Duke University Talent Identification Program’s 7th Grade Talent Search, eligible students take above level college-entrance exams (SAT or ACT) to learn more about their readiness for college success. The Duke Talent Search invites students in 16 states to participate in the program. Students must have scored in the top 5 percent on standardized state tests such as TAKS. This year North Shore Middle School students Sydnie Hinshaw, Brendan Friday, Zachary Fredette and Cunningham Middle School student Dominique Schaefer were honored at the state level for their high test scores. Students scoring in the top 30 percent in Texas are recognized at the state level. ![]() Shown (l-r) are: Sydnie Hinshaw, Brendan Friday, Zachary Fredette and Dominique Schaefer.
