Harris County Precinct Two Constable Gary Freeman honored the winners of the Galena Park/Jacinto City Rotary Club’s Drug Awareness Essay Contest during the club’s weekly meeting on Jan. 27.

Idalys Rea, from Cunningham Middle School, captured first place in the essay contest. Katie Rowe, North Shore Middle School, finished in second place while Briana Cabarcas, North Shore Middle School, finished third. All three finalists received plaques and IPod Shuffles and the first-place winner also received a gift certificate for $25.
