Jacinto City Elementary School Honored

Jacinto City Elementary School is one of nine GPISD campuses to earn recognition in the prestigious National Center for Educational Achievement's 2009 Just for the Kids Higher Performing List. These GPISD schools are in elite company since the NCEA deemed only 19 percent of schools in Texas as Higher Performing.
By comparison, the Texas Education Agency identified 61 percent of schools in the state as Exemplary or Recognized. The NCEA uses standards including student growth, students actual scale scores in the elementary levels as well as the percentage of students reaching the college and career readiness benchmark to identify schools on the Higher Performing List. Jacinto City Elementary School was honored for performance in third grade math.
