Jeff Miller re-elected, Ramon Garza elected to GPISD Board of Trustees

         Galena Park ISD voters re-elected incumbent Jeff Miller to Position 3 and elected Ramon Garza to Position 4 on the GPISD Board of Trustees on Saturday, May 8, 2010.
         Miller, 66, who is currently serving as Board President, defeated Cruz R. Hinojosa, Jr. in the Position 3 race. Miller finished with a total of 897 votes while Hinojosa had 603. Hinojosa, 57, previously served on the GPISD Board of Trustees from 2003-2007.
         Ramon Garza, 41, defeated Lois Killough in the Position 4 race with 858 votes to 719 votes. This will be the first term for Garza. Killough, 65, is a retired educator who spent many years in Galena Park ISD. Position 4 became vacant when incumbent Minnie Rivera decide not to seek re-election.
