FFA students in Galena Park ISD will have the opportunity to display their livestock and other projects during the 8th annual Livestock Show, Nov. 16-18 at the district Agricultural Facility, 2000 Holland Ave.
Students will begin checking in market rabbits, market sheep, goats, swine, broilers, specialty projects, food, art, photography and horticulture at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16. Judging for broilers, market rabbits and specialty projects will begin at 5 p.m. with the market swine show, market goat show and market sheep show to follow. Check-in for open goats, sheep and swine begins at 5:30 p.m. The open goat $5 jackpot showmanship will be held in ring A at 7:30 p.m. while the open swine $5 jackpot showmanship will be held in ring B at 7:30 p.m.
The schedule for Wednesday, Nov. 17 includes check-in for GPISD steers and heifers at 4 p.m. and check-in open steers and heifers at 5 p.m. The GPISD steer show begins at 6 p.m. with the GPISD heifer show to follow. The jackpot showmanship competition will begin at 7 p.m. with open steer show and then open heifer show to follow.
The buyers’ appreciation luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18 and the live auction begins at 12:30 p.m.
