GPISD receives “Patriot Award” for support of Guard and Reserve

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) has bestowed upon Mr. Crockett Dubose, Chief of Staff of the Galena Park Independent School District the "Patriot Award".  The Patriot Award recognizes deserving employers whose support and goodwill are important to retaining highly skilled and qualified members of the Guard and Reserve.
Presenting the award to Mr. Dubose was James Beesley, the Director of Transportation for GPISD.  He is a Colonel in the Army Reserve.
Col. Beesley lauded the Galena Park ISD for its steadfast support of not only its guard and reserve employees, but also its support of wounded veterans.  “GPISD goes the extra mile to ensure that its Citizen-Soldiers are given the freedom to participate in their military duties without fear of reprisal.  Reserve forces are critical to the defense of this nation and bring a tremendous wealth of experience and knowledge into the work place.  GPISD, through people like Mr. Dubose, recognize the sacrifices made by Citizen-Soldiers. Although we serve for selfless reasons, it's always nice to know that the administration cares about us,” Beesley said.
