Stampede Studios Tramples SXSW

The North Shore Senior High School Stampede Studio had one of it's films entitled "Z" shown at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Conference in Austin. Over 5,000 films were submitted to the 7th Annual Texas High School Film competition and it was one out of only 25 films shown. The following students were involved in this production: John Fernandez, Austin Loving, Brandon Mitchell, and Jeffrey Nickelson.

While in Austin, these four students competed in the SXSW Youth Make a Film in a (MAFIA) Day Film Festival presented by the Austin School of Film (ASoF). The Students were challenged to work in teams of four to write, shoot, and edit a five-minute short film according to set guidelines within 24 hours. They were given a genre and a prop to use in their film. Their production of "Codename: Flyswatter" was selected for "Best use of Prop", a flyswatter.

Stampede Studio's Sponsor is Mark Nickelson.
