Galena Park ISD Students Recognized For Films

          On Thursday, Feb. 10, SXSW (South By Southwest) announced that four GPISD student films would be in the finals at the prestigious SXSW Film Festival. This festival is quite possibly the largest Independent film festival in the world. There were around 5,000 submissions to SXSW this year, and only 140 short film slots. Students in Buzz Media, from Galena Park High School were selected for three of those slots. And a fourth went to a student from North Shore High School's Stampede Studios. The films from Buzz Media to make the finals are: "G.E.T. P.A.I.D." (music video), "B-Boying" (documentary), and "Eggs" (comedy). The film from Stampede Studios was entitled "Z" (short film).
