Sergio Silva Spotlighted at NASA

        Sergio Silva, a senior at Galena Park High School, is currently enrolled in a Practicum in Business work based learning class. Through this course of study, he is employed by NASA. Sergio was honored recently by being Spotlighted in NASA’s Roundup, a Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center publication. Sergio is in the National Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta, the Mathematics National Honor Society. He serves as president of the Robotics Club and president of GPHS Ballet Folklorico Dance Group. Furthermore, he is the Historian for Interact, Rotary International’s service club for young people. Sergio will attend the University of Houston in the fall to major in Computer Engineering. He has been recognized for his academic excellence and will begin his first year at UH as a sophomore, having completed 30 college credit hours by taking dual credit courses in high school.

        Sergio has also been an instrumental member of the Galena Park High School Robotics team. Sergio designed and maintains the team's website which earned the Best Website Award. Additionally, his work contributed to the team winning the Chairman's Award and the Entrepreneurship Award.
