GPISD Wins Gold from Texas Comptroller

       The Galena Park ISD Financial Department earned the Texas Comptroller's Leadership Circle Gold award for financial transparency . The department's website achieved a near perfect score from the Comptroller. GPISD received recognition for their online check register, financial reports and budget being clearly transparent and readily available to the public.

       The Comptroller of Public Accounts launched the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle program in December 2009 to recognize local governments across Texas that are striving to meet a high standard for financial transparency online. The recognition is awarded to districts who open their books to the public, provide clear and consistent pictures of spending, and share information in a user-friendly format that lets taxpayers easily drill down for more information.
