Chamber Honors Student Poet

          Zachary Potter was honored at the North Channel Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon on May 6, 2011. Potter is an eighth grader at North Shore Middle School who has built quite a list of academic accomplishments. Zach wrote a poem titled "One" for the Texas PTA Reflections Competition that has advanced to the National competition. He will be recognized by the Texas PTA at a reception in Austin this summer for his accomplishment at the state level. Zachary was part of the Odyssey of the Mind team that took top honors and advanced to state and also a member of the Pentathlon team that placed second in the state for math last year. Potter took second place in the Physics category of the school's Science Fair and was the champion of the NSMS Spelling Bee last year.
